Free intimate show? Check. Rooftop bar? Check. Poolside? Check. If you are looking for something to do tomorrow night, head on over to Skybar at The Mondrian Hotel in Hollywood to see Sondre Lerche playing at 8pm poolside. The new series, Mondrian Sessions, is put together by IAMSOUND and has had a decent lineup with acts such as Warpaint, MEN and Yacht. Check out more on upcoming performances here or rsvp for the Sondre Lerche performance at skybarla@morganshotelgroup.com.

Have all your friends abandoned you this weekend? Or maybe you are all in town and pondering how to use this ample time? Well my friends and I will be attending FYF (Fuck Ya Fest) at the Los Angeles State Historic Park on Saturday and all of you are more than welcome to come! There is going to be a great music lineup and I just read that they have added a comedy lineup as well, not to mention all of the glorious food trucks that will be there. I mean everyone knows that where there are hipsters…there will be food trucks! I am extremely excited to see Local Natives, Warpaint and Dead Man’s Bones (Ryan Gosling’s band), just to name a few. Below is a small portion of the lineup and you can purchase tickets or check out the full lineup at the FYF website here!
For the longest time I was constantly checking the Florence and the Machine website to see if they added any tourdates in Los Angeles and everytime it was a nay. Until a friend at work (thanks Erika!) informed me that indeed my dreams would be coming true! If you are wanting to see this amazing band I suggest getting tickets as soon as they go on sale because they are going to sky rocket to the top. Unfortunately they were MTV’s Band on the Rise or whatever this week which means all the 10 year olds that watch the channel will now be obsessed with Florence and the Machine.
The other band that I received an email update about was Broken Bells who will be making a pit stop in LA as well. I never saw The Shins in concert but I can imagine that James Mercer and Danger Mouse will put on a good show. And as previously stated, I would get these tickets early as well.
Florence and the Machine – November 6th, The Wiltern Los Angeles
Broken Bells – October 6th, The Wiltern Los Angeles
I hate to make anyone jealous but I must release my excitement for the Kings of Leon show I’ll be attending tonight at the infamous Hollywood Bowl before I burst. I’ve been a KOL fan since their inception, LONG before “Sex On Fire,” and I’m glad to see a great band with actual talent make it big. That’s what this industry is about right? Making and spreading GOOD music? I’d rather a previously under-the-radar band “hit it big” than a talentless, washed-up “celebrity” (a la Lindsay Lohan), but I digress.
After living in Los Angeles for 3 years, tonight I will lose my Hollywood Bowl virginity. That’s right. I live right above it in the hills, get stuck in its horrendously slow traffic every day of the summer, but have never attended one of its numerous summer shows. What a better way to be de-virginized than by seeing Kings Of Leon? At any rate, expect to see some uploads from the concert within the next few days. However, I must warn you, I will be in attendance tonight with my binocular-shaped flask. Needless to say, the pictures may turnout subpar — thanks in advance for your understanding!
Enjoy some Bonnaroo KOL “Sex On Fire,” my friends! Wish you were here.
