WATCH: Das Racist “Ek Shaneesh”

If you’ve been searching endlessly for the perfect mix between M.I.A. and Asher Roth… then I have a surprise for you! Enter: Brooklyn’s ecclectic trio, Das Racist.

Check out their video for “Ek Shaneesh” and commiserate with me that we’re unable to see them at this year’s SXSW in Austin, Texas. And for those of you lucky enough to see them… I want to be you.

LISTEN: Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros – “Fire & Water”

ES&TMZ have released a new-ish song for your listening pleasure. I say new-ish because it wasn’t on the debut album but is actually from their iTunes session so if you were hoping that meant another album you are sadly mistaken. I really dig this song titled “Fire & Water”… it’s not too hippie eccentric like many of their songs it’s just chill and somewhat simple. It reminds me of The Band…modern day of course. Listen below!

Does this guy ever take a break? From what I can tell…the answer is no. Check out samples of Danger Mouse’s new project with Daniele Luppi called Rome. Speaking of over-achievers Jack White is featured as a vocalist as well as Norah Jones. Listen to the samples below (via SKOA)!

NEWS: White Stripes Getting Back In the Studio

Well not technically a new album since they haven’t even been in the studio yet, but just the talk of this makes me want to pee my pants with excitement. Everyone knows I LOVE the White Stripes so I will probably be browsing the internet every day now of any possible news regarding this topic. According to an interview that Jack did with Vanity Fair (via Spin) he basically says that they have gotten all side projects done and out of the way…they are now ready get back into the studio (THANK YOU BABY JESUS). Jack: ”We thought we’d do a lot of things that we’d never done: a full tour of Canada, a documentary, coffee-table book, live album, a boxed set,” he says. “It was one long project that took almost three years. Now that we’ve gotten a lot of that out of our system, Meg and I can get back in the studio and start fresh.” If this turns out to be false I will cry…for days…listening to “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground.”

LISTEN: New M.I.A. – Track Name Still Questionable

We hit up the M.I.A. (and Rye Rye) concert last night in Los Angeles at the Mayan downtown and let me tell you it did not disappoint. I was nervous because I honestly was not a big fan of Maya’s last album…it hurt my head with all the jackhammer noises. BUT she suprised me and performed many of her older (better) songs and the crowd loved it. I think I danced off 5 lbs just last night although if I danced half as well as Rye Rye I would be down 30 lbs by now. Girl got moves! Anyway, M.I.A. leaked a new track on her Twitter page about an hour ago. Not sure of the track name but check out the link below to hear it. What do you think?

LISTEN: Robyn – “Indestructible”

Robyn is well on her way to releasing 4 Body Talk albums by the end of 2010, the next being Pt.3 on November 22nd. That date happens to be the biggest release date of the year with other artist like Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Ke$ha, My Chemical Romance and more also releasing albums. The single off Pt.3 hit the internet and may sound familar if you own or have listened to Body Talk Pt.2. “Indestructible” was featured on the previous as a slower acoustic version but it’s now hitting us with all the dance electro glory that makes you want to go to club and let it all loose. Listen to the track below and grab the album November 22nd.
