NEWS: Red Hot Chili Peppers New Album in the Works
As you may or may not know, Red Hot Chili Peppers have recently started working on a new album and with a new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer who will be replacing John Frusciante. The band (minus Josh) was on KROQ’s Kevin and Bean Show this morning mostly promoting their new book The Red Hot Chili Peppers: An Oral/Visual History which they will be signing at The Grove LA at noon. BUT they were asked about the timing of the new album and Kiedis hinted at early summer 2011…not too far away for all you fans! It also sounds like the album will be a little different from what they normally do probably thanks to new guitarist Klinghoffer who has worked with numerous artist such as Gnarls Barkley and PJ Harvey. Keep a look out for more info on the new album and if you have a free afternoon stop by the Barnes and Nobles at The Grove LA to snatch up the book and get it signed by the band!

WATCH: The XX Live On Kimmel
So while my mom was visiting me in Los Angeles this week I took her to a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live. She had a great time.. but the biggest perk for me was seeing The XX. For free. Need I say more?! Check out “Crystalized” from Monday’s taping (if you know what I look like, search of me to the left of Kimmel during the introduction).

NEW: Bruno Mars’s “Count On Me” Sounds Like Plain White T’s
Bruno Mars‘s debut album Doo-Wops & Hooligans dropped today… have you picked it up yet? Or are you puritanically boycotting him because of his coke bust in Vegas? Either way, check out his lovey dovey track “Count On Me” below. THEN compare it to the annoyingly catchy 2008 Plain White T’s song “1-2-3-4.” Strangely similar in subject AND sound, no? BUSTED!

My co-blogger sent me a YouTube mashup yesterday and thus sparked an hour long visit to the site listening to mashups. It’s always so addicting when the “Other Videos Similar” pop up and you keep on choosing videos…all of a sudden you’ve been on YouTube for an entire day.
