Listen: Beck Song Leak Off Scott Pilgrim Soundtrack

As I have posted before, Beck has been writing songs for the fictional band Sex Bob-omb for the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Soundtrack. Looks like one of the songs titled “Summertime,”  that only made the cut as a bonus on the deluxe edition, has leaked onto the interwebs. It’s classic Beck with a garage band twist which, I assume, will be what Sex Bob0mb sounds like. The soundtrack hits stores August 10th and you bet your Mom i’ll be first in line for this epicness.

Happy 40th Birthday, Beck!

In honor of Beck’s 40th birthday, I thought I’d post one of my favorite songs by the LA-native Birthday boy. Plus, it’s virtually impossible to have a bad day while listening to Tropicalia.

Cheers to the 25 years of amazing music he’s given us… and many more to come!

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World Soundtrack: We Are Sex Bob-omb!

I’m 100% sure that all friends and co-workers are sick of me discussing how excited I am for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World which hits theaters August 13th. I’ve watched every trailer and video blog, I’ve even read all volumes of the graphic novel the movie is based on so I had a feeling that the soundtrack was going to be Epic. Director Edgar Wright had brought on Beck to write all songs for Sex-Bob-Omb, the fictional movie band that hero Scott Pilgrim plays bass. The soundtrack also features songs by The Rolling Stones, Broken Social Scene, Metric and Frank Black. Check out the full list and trailer on Pitchfork because you’ll be dust on Monday.
