Attention east coasters. Well…East Coast, Midwest and Canada. Odd Future has announced a tour in your area! If you are unaware of this crew you should seriously check out some tunes and stop by one of these shows. From what I’ve seen on the internets, they put on a crazy good performance! Holy crap…Odd Futures performance on Jimmy Fallon was..well…odd. And yet amazing! Jumping around the stage like crazy people, jumping on Jimmy Fallon’s back at the end and to top it off Mos Def showing up? Watch below.
I have never thought to myself “hey! I need to go purchase a Ukulele based album.” At least not until watching this video of Ukulele master Jake Shimabukuro covering Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”. I’ve never been one for strictly instrumental songs but if they sounded like this I would be snatching up every album out there. Jake, who has been playing Ukulele since he was 4, has toured with Jimmy Buffett and was featured on Yo-Yo Ma’s holiday album. Oh how I love Vampire Weekend. I saw them back in September at the Hollywood Bowl and I have deemed it the 2nd best concert I’ve ever been to, they are amazing live. They recently performed on the Jools Holland NYE bash and per usual are great. Watch the video below!
Set your clocks people. One of my favorite bands right now, Local Natives, will be performing on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon this Tuesday night. Their album Gorilla Manor is one of those albums I could listen to all day and I am anticipating good things for them this 2011. Also, if you are in the LA area the band is performing at the Walt Disney Concert Hall on February 26th. Tickets go on sale January 15th. To find out more check out the concert hall website here!

Another new Adele song surfaces. The singer performed new track from her upcoming sophmore album “Someone Like You” from her upcoming sophmore album 21 on the UK show Later with Jools Holland. This band has just taken off…it’s really crazy. I remember seeing Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros last year at the Abbot Kinney Festival in Venice and thinking “God this band is so great.” Apparantly everyone else thought so too because when I saw them at Sunset Junction…we were about a mile away from the stage. Check out their performance of “Home” on Jimmy Kimmel below (they also performed “40 Day Dream”). P.S. Alex Ebert looks like a total hobo to me, I picture him sleeping in train cars at night or something.
